Presidency reveals details of Buhari's phone conversation with Donald Trump

President Buhari this afternoon from London spoke to US President Donald Trump on telephone at the request of the American President. According to a statement released by the Senior Special Assistant to Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the conversation was cordial and Pres. Buhari congratulated Trump on his election as President of the United States, and on his cabinet.

The two leaders discussed ways to improve cooperation in the fight against terrorism through provision of necessary equipment. President Trump encouraged President Buhari to keep up the good work he is doing, and also commended him for the efforts made in rescuing 24 of the Chibok Girls and the strides being taken by the Nigerian military.

President Trump assured the Nigerian President of US readiness to cut a new deal in helping Nigeria in terms of military weapons to combat terrorism. President Trump also invited President Buhari to Washington at a mutually convenient date.‎

Danish aid worker Anja Ringgren Loven, who garnered international attention after she rescued severely malnourished child branded a witch and left to starve to death, has done it again.

The founder of the Children's Aid Education and Development Foundation (ACAEDF) took to her Facebook page moments ago to announce the rescue of another boy abandoned by his family.

"Today Nsidibe Orok and I went on a rescue mission. A boy was abandoned and left alone on the street. We found the boy tortured all over his body but he is safe now with all of us at "Land of Hope"


Nigerian comedian slumps and dies days after sharing news of his new car on Facebook

MC Worthy Comedian, an entertainer resident in Imo State died in the early hours of this morning, only days after he bought a new car.

The Comedian was reportedly healthy and showed no signs of an illness until he started complaining of a severe headache early this morning. He reportedly slumped soon after shouting that his head ached terribly and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Federal Medical Centre Owerri.



The comedian recently acquired a brand new Toyota Avalon car which he showed off on Facebook earlier this month. A few friends on Facebook speculated that he died of brain hemorrhage, but this is yet to be confirmed.

MC Worthy was just beginning to rise in his career and was becoming a household name in the entertainment scene in Imo state when the cold hand of death struck.

Tributes have been pouring in on Facebook with friends wishing it would turn out to be a prank. A friend, Kriss Ray, wrote;

"RIP Man! The young, talented and promising die too quick these days. You were indeed a worthy talent but well, safe journey brother. #sad Flowrymz Ibekwe."
So sad!

Apo Six: Court adjourns judgement to March 9

A High Court sitting in Abuja on Monday adjourned judgement in the trial of six police officers accused of alleged extra judicial killing of six Abuja auto- spare parts dealers, popularly known as Apo Six, to March 9th.

The Chief Judge, Justice Ishaq Bello, had earlier fixed today, February 13 for judgement. After a brief meeting with court officials, Counsels in the case informed those present of the new agreed date. The accused persons, Danjuma Ibrahim, Othman Abdulsalami , Nicholas Zakaria, Ezekiel Acheneje, Baba Emmanuel and Sadiq Salami were arraigned on a 9-count charge of conspiracy and culpable homicide, which contravened the provisions of Sections 97 and 221 (a) of the Penal Code Law.

The deceased, Ifeanyi Ozor, Chinedu Meniru, Isaac Ekene, Paulinus Ogbonna, Anthony Nwodike and Augustina Arebun, aged between 21 and 25 years, were returning from a night party in 2005 when they were killed.

The Osun State Police Command on Monday, paraded the driver who killed a female student of Osun State University(UNIOSUN) Rofiat Damilola Adebisi.
Briefing newsmen at the headquarters, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Fimihan Adeoye said the suspect, Elijah Oyebode killed Rofiat on Dec. 2, 2016 and would be arraigned in court without delay.
In a chat with Daily Trust, Oyebode claims that he didn't intend to kill the student, adding that he was shocked she died. He said when the deceased boarded his vehicle at Ipetu-Ijesa, he started chatting with her then later took took her to his house in Iragbiji.
LIB recalls that the corpse of the 400L Science Education student was found in Iragbiji, five days after she was declared missing. She had left the campus to attend a programme organized by a Muslim group, NASFAT society at Ikoyi town, off Ife-Ibadan Expressway in Osun State when she disappeared.
